Making lasagna

The kids helped me make some great lasagna the other day... they did all the layering work, and then I helped scoop into the pan. It turned out yummy and we all enjoyed it for two days. Most of the veggies were from the garden or from the farm share, so that is always fun. We also made some roasted tomato, garlic and onion soup yesterday from Jill's website. Tyler wasn't a huge fan (he hates tomato soup!) and the kids weren't that impressed... but I really liked it. That is all that matters right?

Camping on the Thompson River

This last weekend we decided to camp Saturday night in the Thompson Falls area. We didn't have a specific campground in mind, so we drove on some logging roads, and found a great little campsite on the side of the road. We had it all to ourselves, and there was a fire ring already made! It was so quiet. Two different times, a bald eagle traveled along the river fishing; and an osprey was also hanging around. The kids had a great time playing around in the dirt and fishing with daddy. Tyler unfortunately did not catch any fish, but he did try a couple times.
All in all a great camping trip; maybe even the best of the season. But we won't tell you exactly where it is :)

Oregon Pictures

Here are the rest of our pictures from our trip to Oregon. We had a great time, and loved seeing everyone, and sharing our wonderful news face to face. Roxanne's reaction was priceless!

At the Children's Museum in Astoria.. the kids had a really great time.

Ayla of course, on the phone, Colton at the wheel.

At Cape Disappointment, in Astoria. I forget the Lighthouse's name, but it was pretty.

Ayla and Leecia's new "puppy", Blue. Such a sweet dog!

Some vacation pictures from Bend, OR

Here are some pictures taken in Bend. We stayed there for 5 days, and had a great time with Grandma Colleen, Grandpa Richard, cousins, and Aunt Danielle. The kids loved spending time in the pool, and having lots of special treats!
More to come later with more pictures from our vacation.
We had a great time and were sad to leave (but it is always nice to be home, too!)

Slacking, I know!

I have been kind of slacking on the blog front... summer has caught up with us finally! We found ... or finally discovered a great little beach on Whitefish Lake, so we have been taking the kids up there to play around! Also, I have been working on diaper orders when the weather is cool enough to work in my "dungeon" (aka the garage!). So needless to say, we are having fun.

We leave this week to finally go on vacation! Usually we take vacation to see family; and this time we are too - but at a resort in Oregon! How wonderful is that? we get 5 days to relax and not move from house to house... we are really excited. So we will be gone for a couple weeks (doing the normal ritual after that!) Not that we mind seeing everyone! We just like to relax.

Be back in a while!
